Feb. 7: Geo-Caching

Went to the usual 10:00 computer class this morning and got my whole system backed up. Larry had bought a 500 gig back up for our new computer that has 2 hard drives on it. The computer lady helped us download a program (Acronis) and then backed up the system--not just the programs--but an exact clone of our hard drive.

At 1:00 Larry and I taught a Geo-caching class. I did all the fun stuff talking and Larry talked about the geeky stuff - the GPS. The old one we had didn't work well yesterday, so we went to the Academy sporting good store and bought a new eTrax by Garmin. We even hid a small sample of a cache on the park property (what they call the dog run/storage area) so everyone could have fun trying to find it. I think we converted a few muggles into the world of
geo-caching.

After class, Larry and I went in search of 3 of our own caches. Found all three. Larry really likes the new Garmin. This is him digging around in a bush - however, it was in the concrete wall next to this bush. It was a film canister stuck in a hole in the wall. The other one is in a small par
k right on Ocean Drive. The third one was in a neighborhood park and I didn't take any photos - way too easy a find.

Hey, did you know you can click on the pictures and they are big. Learn something new every day. I was wondering what I was suppose to be seeing in these little tiny pictures.

And I thought you were the computer genius. Glad you can now see all the spectacular beauty that we're seeing down here.
