Because the wind was gusting up to 30 or 40mph, we decided to not go to the aircraft carrier and get blown off the deck. Instead we made a list of stuff we needed and headed out. Got back around 3ish and went straight to the pool. 'Bout it for our day. Need these down days every now and then.
Did I tell you about how much fun a GPS is. As most of you know, Lucy is the name of our smaller GPS (Lucy, you got a lot of 'splanin' to do) and the big new one in the truck hadn't earned her name yet. Well, she is now Alice. Remember Alice from the Honeymooners. Ralph was always going to knock her to the moon. Well, that's about how we felt after trying to navigate Houston. Numerous times she tried to get us back to Mt. Vernon, TX. I'm sure it was user error but that didn't help our patience any. On a good note, if we put in an exact address and drive slow enough so that we're not ahead of her commands she's really quite helpful. However, she has absolutely no idea what a "bad" part of town is vs. the "better" part of town. If you put in an address, she's gonna get you there even if you're driving thru the getto to get there. Nothing more fun than pulling a 36' 5th wheel thru small, twisting streets with people parked on both sides looking at you like you're an alien. But, as a whole, she's gotten us around Corpus which is built on a diagonal so not fun to run around in without some idea of which direction you're going.
And, I forgot to mention that last night during the Star Spangled Banner of the Super Bowl, every one in the room stood up - including the Canadians. Very impressive. And several of us today at the pool were discussing how we were all learning to count in French during the Bingo game. Educational Bingo - eh!
